Qatari-Nigerian meeting: further development of bilateral relations
On Wednesday this week in Lagos, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of Qatar in Nigeria and business leaders. The governments of Nigeria and Qatar confirmed their intention to expand trade between the two countries in manufacturing, construction, oil and gas, and technology.
In recent years, bilateral relations between the states have been developing especially actively - last year the government of Nigeria turned to Qatar with a request for cooperation in the field of gas development to increase investment in the energy and gas industries. The meeting in Laos was a confirmation of the continued strengthening of ties and cooperation.
The Qatar Development Bank said it was ready to work with Nigerian businesses to strengthen investment ties in various sectors. It will also expand its presence through partnerships in various sectors such as building materials and construction, chemicals, healthcare and medicine, oil and gas products, and technology services areas, including fintech and Information and Communication Technologies.
The benefits for Nigeria will be large investments in industry, necessary for the development of the state and the economy. Thanks to Qatar's experience and diverse offerings, the African country will be able to succeed in the market and become one of the leaders in its region.
