Turkey and Turkmenistan: upcoming meeting and success in trade

On Friday this week, Turkish Minister of Commerce Mehmet Mus will meet with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. Mus will also hold talks with the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers for Economics and Finance, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers, as well as the Director General of the Transport and Communications Agency. 

The visit is timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states and is dedicated to discussing issues of cooperation and trade and economic relations. 

In 2021, trade between Turkey and Turkmenistan increased by 53% year on year to $1.7 billion. At the same time, Turkey exported goods worth $985 million. 

Turkey's investments in Turkmenistan reach $434 million. Turkmenistan's investments in the Turkish side reach $1 million. Also, according to the Ministry of Commerce, contractors from Turkey have completed more than 1,060 projects worth $50 billion.
